Before You Think About Being Supernatural...
Want to be something greater than human? Cool. But this world doesn't run on wishlists.
GHOST//NET' supernatural society is built on power, fear, and ancient structure.
If you want fangs, fur, or flame? You don't just ask for ityou earn it, and when you get it, you submit to the hierarchy it comes with.
You don't "act supernatural" until you're initiated IC.
You treat your sire, your faction leader, and your sovereign/elder/alpha like they could destroy youbecause they can.
You start from the bottom and prove yourself, in-character, one scene at a time.
"You're not special because you picked a race at creation. You're special when the world finally decides you've survived enough to become something more."
1. Voice RP is Mandatory
This is a voice-first server. If you don't talk, you don't walk.
✓ You must:
- Use a working mic
- Be able to engage in real-time voice RP
✗ You cannot:
- Play mute or deaf characters
- Use /me or /do as a substitute for actual speaking
"You vanish in GHOST//NET the moment you stop talking. Might as well be a ghost already."
2. Permadeath & The Value of Life
Here's the truth: Not every death is the end.
Die in a shootout, get hit by a car, forget to eat your stim bar? You'll respawn. That's New Life Rule (NLR). You just forget what happened and move on.
But... There are deaths that stick. True death. Final Death. That's Permadeath.
Permadeath happens when:
✓ You consent to it for story
✓ You're part of a staff-sanctioned high-stakes event (Blood Hunts, Arcane Trials, etc.)
✓ You show gross disregard for life
"Play smart, stay alive. Play stupid, get wiped."
3. Supernatural RP & Hierarchy
✓ These roles require staff approval:
"This isn't a democracy. This is a feudal nightmare wearing a Gucci suit."
4. Civilians & Supernatural Secrets
✗ Civilians cannot:
- "Guess" that someone is supernatural based on vibes
- Follow players around hoping they slip up
- Try to "solve" supernatural mysteries through wild theories or OOC logic
✓ Civilians can uncover the truth, but only through:
- Long-term RP
- Staff-guided revelations
- Organic, in-character discoveries earned through story
"You don't get to pull back the veil. The veil pulls you in when it's ready."
5. Crime RP – Heat Comes With the Hustle
✓ Crime is fair game, including:
- Store robberies
- Civilian muggings
- Bank heists
- Supply truck jacks
- Hostage situations
✗ But you must get staff approval if you're:
- Infiltrating a corporate building
- Hitting a military facility
- Planning a server-wide/faction-impacting heist
"If it shakes the city, staff needs to know before the fireworks go off."
6. Player-to-Player Robbery Rules
✓ Pick ONE of the following:
- Cash only up to $2,500
- Up to 3 inventory items
- One bag (e.g., backpack) and everything inside it
If They Fight and Die? They chose to resist and lost? You get everything.
"They gambled. You cashed out. That's how the street rolls."
7. Cyberware vs Magic
✓ Power conflicts are resolved via:
- Server mechanics
- Admin-directed scenes
- Mutual dice rolls (only if both parties agree)
✗ No power-level arguments
✗ No lore-lawyering
"Let the system decide. If you're fragged, you're fragged. Deal with it."
8. Character Creation
Your character must be:
- 100% Original
- Lore-appropriate
- Staff-approved if supernatural
✗ You may NOT:
- Use famous names
- Copy pop culture characters or parodies
- Base your character on real-world people
"You want to matter? Don't copy. Build."
9. The Core Rules
VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch): Your car isn't a murder weapon unless there's a damn good RP reason.
RDM (Random Deathmatch): Kill with story, not impulse. Every bullet fired needs motive.
FailRP: Act like your body matters. Don't eat five slugs and laugh it off.
Powergaming: You don't get to force scenes. Nobody likes a puppet master.
Metagaming: If your character didn't see it, hear it, or learn it ICit's not real to them. Period.
NLR (New Life Rule): You die, you forget what led to it. No coming back like some vengeful cartoon.
Combat Logging: Alt-F4 during a bust? That's cowardice. And we track cowards.
Cop Baiting: If you're poking the bear just to make chaos, you're gonna get mauled.
Fear RP (No Value of Life): Act like your life is worth something. Otherwise, someone else will decide its worth for you.
"Stay frosty, chummer. The Sprawl is always hungry."
